We're delighted to invite you to an exhibition of paintings by Chris, Karen, Michael, Phil and Phillip, members of the art group at the Royal Hospital Donnybrook.
For 26 years Cathy Callan has travailed from Athy to Donnybrook to make art with the patients and residents at the hospital. Now the paintings are taking a road of their own, moving from the hospital art room into Ranelagh Arts Gallery, where new audiences can encounter and enjoy the work.
The exhibition forms part of an art and health documentation project, Where the work goes from Care to Culture, developed in collaboration with patients and residents ( the Royal Hospital Donnybrook) Yvonne Pidgeon and artist Patrick Viale (Volunteers), Jo Cannon (Occupational Therapy Department), Tomás Campbell (Clinical Physiology Services), Monika Crowley (Ranelagh Arts) and Cathy Callan (Resident Artist).
Please Note: FrameIT Productions will be filming at the opening event for educational and documentation purposes
With heartfelt thanks to Yvonne Pidgeon and artist Patric Viale for their ongoing contribution, and for everyone that has helped bring the exhibition and documentation to life.
Thanks to the Royal Hospital Donnybrook's Occupational Therapy Department and Clinical Physiology, Services, Ranelagh Arts, the Royal Hospital Donnybrook Donations Committee, Kildare Arts Service and FrameIT Productions for their invaluable support. We are very grateful to Ivana Bacik TD, Leader of the Labour Party, for kindly agreeing to officially open the exhibition.
The documentation project is funded in part through the Arts and Health Documentation Bursary 2026, funded by the Arts Council and the HSE
